Argentina: Prices lower for both malting and feed barley
Prices are lower for both Argentinean malting and feed barley but limited to a degree by early conditions and economic uncertainty, RMI Analytics said in their latest report.
With a general lack of buying interest, the absence of farmer selling is not an issue at present. When end-user demand does reappear, the current price levels are unlikely to change farmer reluctance to sell. Higher prices may be necessary, the analysts said.
Inflation rates remain high (like everywhere) and project towards a total annual inflation result of 100% this year. Currency devaluation remains a major issue.
